Official listing check
How to check an SBA certification listing
Search for the business in SBA Small Business Search, then record the status you find. This worksheet saves your notes; it does not search SBA records.
Check the official listing
- Open SBA Small Business Search ↗. Its public interface has a search term and filters, including SBA certifications, NAICS and location.
- Search using the business details you have, then confirm that the result belongs to the business you mean. A similar name alone is not enough.
- Note the program, status and any dates shown in the listing.
- If several businesses match or you cannot identify a listing, check the search details and ask SBA for clarification.
We reviewed the public search interface, but have not checked a business on your behalf. For a state or private buyer, ask which certifications it accepts; an SBA listing may not answer that question.
If the listing is missing or unclear
If you cannot confirm a match, check the business details and ask for clarification. That search result alone does not establish whether the business was ever certified. A current listing also does not prove a contract award, future eligibility or acceptance by another buyer. Save the date checked, especially when the listing and the business’s documents disagree.
